21:18 1 October, 2025Legendary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami has partnered with Dom Pérignon, part of the LVMH group, to transform champagne bottles into collectible art pieces.
Murakami decorated two limited-edition releases with his signature smiling flowers: Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 and Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010, reports WWD.
A standout piece is the exclusive “Uber” edition — a one-of-a-kind creation. Hand-sculpted and painted, the bottle forms a perfect sphere that opens to reveal a “secret garden.”
“Through this collaboration with Dom Pérignon, I wanted to express the shape of a journey through time,” Murakami said, adding that he hopes future generations encountering the art piece will reimagine the year 2025 in their own minds.
Vincent Chaperon, the brand’s head winemaker, explained that the collaboration aims to create a dialogue between tradition and invention. “We see heritage not as a fixed value but as something passed through time,” he said.
Dom Pérignon has previously collaborated with Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Karl Lagerfeld, Jeff Koons, David Lynch, and Lenny Kravitz. Murakami’s project is part of the brand’s new campaign, “Creation is an Eternal Journey,” which also features Tilda Swinton, Zoë Kravitz, Anderson .Paak, Iggy Pop, Swedish dancer Alexander Ekman, and Northern Irish chef Clare Smith.
