16:20 24 October, 2025Maison Margiela is expanding its influence beyond fashion, entering the real estate market for the first time. The brand has announced a partnership with Alta Real Estate Development to launch the exclusive Maison Margiela Residences on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, Hypebeast reports.
The architecture and design of the residences were created by Maison Margiela in collaboration with Italian architect Carlo Colombo. The project will feature just 24 unique apartments, where Margiela’s signature codes — deconstruction, optical illusion, and transformation — are translated into luxurious living spaces.

"Partnering with Maison Margiela allows us to push the boundaries of design and reimagine the concept of luxury living in Dubai. These residences will stand as a testament to creativity, craftsmanship, and individuality," said Abdulla Al Tayer, Managing Director of Alta Real Estate Development.

The project continues Maison Margiela’s global expansion and its move into non-fashion categories. The residences follow the launch of the Line 2 initiative, which focuses on intangible products such as art installations and cultural events. The brand’s recent campaign with Miley Cyrus also highlights its aim to strengthen cultural relevance.

Maison Margiela is not alone in this trend. In August, Italian fashion house Armani announced plans to build its first branded residences on the Ras Al Khaimah coast in the UAE. Experts link this move to luxury brands’ efforts to diversify offerings and offset declining consumer spending.
