Dubai is set to welcome a new architectural gem: the Dubai Museum of Art (DUMA), a floating museum poised to become a regional symbol of creativity and innovation.

The project was unveiled with the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who highlighted the ambition behind the initiative, emphasizing the city’s goal to solidify its status as a global cultural capital.

Designed by the legendary Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the museum is envisioned as a work of art in its own right. Its elegant lines are inspired by the sea and pearls—symbols of Dubai’s heritage—and are intended to integrate seamlessly into the urban landscape, establishing a new landmark for art lovers worldwide.

DUMA will rise five stories above the waters of Dubai Creek. The first and second floors will house exhibition galleries, the third floor will feature a restaurant and VIP area, while the ground and basement levels will host a library, educational spaces, and research facilities. Beyond traditional exhibitions, the museum will serve as a platform for lectures, panel discussions, educational programs, and art fairs, creating a unique blend of culture, learning, and entertainment.

The DUMA project reflects Dubai’s strategic vision, where cultural leadership and economic strength go hand in hand. The museum is expected to attract the international creative elite, providing a space for exchanging ideas and nurturing the next generation of leaders in the creative industries.
