Kim Kardashian confirms strong friendship with Ivanka Trump despite criticism of her father

Lately, the relationship between 45-year-old Kim Kardashian and the Trump family hasn’t been entirely smooth. In August, Kardashian publicly criticized Ivanka’s father, President Donald Trump, over his immigration policies.

However, things now seem cordial between Kim and the First Daughter. Kardashian took to Instagram to wish Ivanka a happy birthday, sharing an old photo of the two standing side by side. “Happy birthday to the kindest, smartest woman I know. Hope you’re celebrating big! Love you! This will always be one of my favorite pics of us together,” she wrote.

Ivanka, in turn, acknowledged Kim on her own birthday on October 21, posting: “Love you, birthday queen.”

The friendship between Kim and Ivanka dates back to 2014, when they first met at the Met Gala and bonded over motherhood. Since then, they’ve been spotted together at various events, including Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding in Venice. In 2018, the pair appeared at the White House when Kim petitioned President Trump to commute the life sentence of Alice Marie Johnson.

“Kim and Ivanka have been friends for years and have hung out on multiple occasions. Their bond began nearly a decade ago at the Met Gala, and they continue to stay in touch and support each other,” a source told Us Weekly.
