Kate Hudson Reveals the Unexpected Way Hugh Jackman Helped Keep Her Governors Awards Dress Perfectly Smooth

On Sunday, Nov. 16, the 46-year-old actress shared a humorous Instagram photo of herself and her Song Sung Blue costar Hugh Jackman en route to the Governors Awards. In the picture, Hudson is stretched out across Jackman’s lap to avoid wrinkling her gown before the event.

“Governors Awards. @theacademy Thanks to Hugh, the silk stayed wrinkle-free,” she joked in the caption. “A wonderful night.”

For the occasion, Hudson wore a pale green silk Valentino dress, while Jackman, 57, sported a classic black-and-white suit.

The actress’s gown included embellished, draped cutout sleeves and a dramatic low back. She completed the ensemble with drop earrings and a softly waved bob paired with smoky eyes.

Hudson and Jackman star together in the upcoming Oscar contender Song Sung Blue, a musical drama based on the true story of Claire and Mike Sardina, a Milwaukee-area couple who created the Neil Diamond tribute act Lightning & Thunder.
