14:05 22 November, 2025Miss Jamaica, Gabrielle Henry, is still hospitalized three days after suffering a serious fall during the Miss Universe preliminary evening gown segment in Thailand.
The 28-year-old contestant was walking the runway on November 19 in a shimmering orange gown and high heels when she misstepped and tumbled off the stage, prompting immediate medical attention.
In a statement shared on November 21 via the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization’s Instagram Stories and provided to PEOPLE, officials confirmed that Henry’s sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, and their mother, Maureen Henry, are by her side in Thailand.
Dr. Henry-Samuels noted that Gabrielle’s condition remains concerning. “Gabby isn’t doing as well as we had hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly,” she said.
Doctors have determined that Henry must remain in the intensive care unit for at least seven days as specialists monitor her closely and continue administering targeted care.
The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization called on supporters “at home and across the Diaspora” to keep Henry in their prayers during what they described as an “extremely challenging time,” encouraging people worldwide to send “love, strength and hope” for her recovery.
