Miss Universe President Shares Health Update on Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry After Pageant Fall

After Miss Jamaica, Gabrielle Henry, fell during the Miss Universe preliminaries, the pageant organization's president Raúl Rocha shared more about her hospitalization and recovery, E! News writes.

Gabrielle Henry is on the mend.

Days after Miss Jamaica fell during the Miss Universe preliminary evening gown category and was carried off on a stretcher, the pageant organization's president shared insight into her recovery.

"Over the past four days, there have been difficult moments and unexpected concerns," Raúl Rocha shared in a Nov. 24 statement. "However, thanks to the excellent medical care provided, each issue was successfully resolved. Today, we are pleased to share that the latest medical report confirms that Dr. Gabrielle Henry is in good health and nearing discharge." 

Although the organization will continue to share information regarding the incident, Rocha noted that "matters concerning her health should be communicated only at the appropriate time and solely at the family's discretion, or by Dr. Henry herself should she choose to do so." 

However, Rocha did explain how the Miss Universe Organization reacted after the 28-year-old—who did not suffer life-threatening injuries—fell completely off the stage while walking the runway.

"From the moment the onstage accident occurred, immediate action was taken to ensure her safety and well-being," the statement explained. "I personally entered the stage to assist her, coordinated urgent medical attention, and oversaw her immediate transfer to the hospital. I was present at the emergency room alongside her family, with whom I spoke directly."

"I recommended a series of precautionary actions, some beyond standard protocol, to guarantee the most accurate evaluation, monitoring, and medical oversight," he continued. "Additional medical specialists were also brought in to provide multiple professional assessments and ensure full clarity regarding her condition."

Rocha also assured fans that the organization has assumed "100 percent of all related expenses," including hotel accommodations, transportation and "dedicated staff assigned to accompany and assist the family throughout the process."

Now, the organization is focused on the contestant's well-being.

"Our full attention has remained on Dr. Henry's care and recovery," his message continued. "We are grateful that she is now close to being released from the hospital."

Shortly after the accident Nov. 19, Rocha shared that Henry had not broken any bones. However, as he noted, she would "remain under observation for the rest of the night and we will remain in touch with her family to support her."
