Cher in talks with Netflix for biographical series

Legendary singer Cher, 79, could soon have her own Netflix series. According to The Sun, the streamer is in the “final stages of negotiations” for a seven-episode project tentatively titled Sharing Her Story.

Each episode is expected to run about an hour and will coincide with the release of the second part of Cher’s memoirs, following her first book published in November 2024.

“Cher has been in talks with Netflix for several months, and the deal is nearly finalized. The series will consist of seven episodes, exploring the highs and lows of her life in detail. The project’s budget is estimated at around £13 million (approximately $17 million),” a source told The Sun.

The series is set to cover the most dramatic and memorable moments of Cher’s life—from her tumultuous marriage to the late Sonny Bono, which the singer has described as far from perfect, to her meteoric rise in the 1960s as part of the iconic duo Sonny & Cher, and her subsequent solo career that cemented her status as a pop culture icon.

The show may also explore Cher’s personal life after her split from Sonny, including her marriage to rock musician Gregg Allman and her complex relationships with her sons, Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman, who has struggled with addiction for many years.
