Why Kim Kardashian Wore Her 22-Carat Diamond Ring for Paris Robbery Trial Despite Knowing It Could Be 'Deemed Disrespectful'

Kim Kardashian is sharing why she chose to wear diamonds to court as she prepared to testify against the men involved in her 2016 Paris robbery. In the latest episode of The Kardashians, she debates whether to wear the replacement of the 22-carat ring that was stolen from her, ultimately deciding to “take back her power” despite her mother Kris Jenner’s concerns.

Kardashian explains that the robbery changed how she lived and what she kept at home, but she refuses to let it dictate what she can wear anymore. She says she wants to “taunt” the people who targeted her.

On May 13, she arrived at the Palais de Justice in Paris in a black blazer and skirt, wearing the 22-carat ring, a $3 million diamond necklace, an ear cuff and other pieces. Jewelry expert Laura Taylor noted that Kardashian used the moment to reclaim control over how she was seen as she faced the suspects for the first time.

Kardashian was robbed in 2016 when five men dressed as police broke into her hotel room during Paris Fashion Week, tied her up and stole millions in jewelry.
