Logan Paul puts world’s most expensive Pokémon card up for auction

To celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, YouTuber and WWE wrestler Logan Paul is parting with a true collector’s “holy grail” — the PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator card, which he purchased in 2022 for $5.3 million. On January 5, the card was listed for auction on Goldin Auctions.

According to Hypebeast, the starting bid was $1.3 million, but by the time of reporting, the bids had already reached $2.1 million — with more than a month remaining in the auction. The card is one of only 40 created for a 1998 Japanese illustrator contest, and this particular copy is the only one in the world graded a perfect PSA 10.

Collectors are especially excited because the card comes with a one-of-a-kind gemstone-encrusted chain that Paul wore during his WWE debut at WrestleMania 38 and his most recent fight against Anthony Joshua. On top of that, the auction winner will get a personal meeting with Paul, who promises to deliver the lot in person.

For Pokémon fans and collectors alike, this auction is a dream event. Paul even shared a video explaining why he decided to sell the legendary card to mark the franchise’s milestone anniversary.
