Jacob & Co. unveils “God of Time” with the world’s fastest tourbillon

Jacob & Co. has introduced a timepiece with what it calls “divine power.” The new God of Time watch features a revolutionary tourbillon that completes a full rotation in just four seconds—five times faster than a traditional one-minute tourbillon and one second faster than the Franck Muller Thunderbolt, making it the fastest tourbillon on the planet.

The watch boasts a 60-hour power reserve, ideal for weekend wear, according to Robb Report.

It’s no surprise that Jacob & Co., the New York-based watchmaker and jeweler, has achieved such a feat. The brand is renowned for its intricate tourbillons, including single-axis, flying, automatic, skeletonized, and other variations across more than 35 calibers.

The new JCAM60 caliber was built from scratch to set the record for tourbillon speed. To achieve such performance, the tourbillon carriage was optimized for extreme lightweight efficiency, crafted primarily from titanium and weighing just 0.27 grams. The mechanism is also a visual masterpiece, fully visible beneath a sapphire bridge. Below the carriage lies an aventurine plate, creating a miniature starry sky highlighting the watch’s intricate components.

Beyond its record-breaking movement, God of Time draws inspiration from ancient Greek temples and mythology. On the dazzling blue aventurine dial sits a hand-engraved rose gold sculpture of Chronos, the Greek god of time. Standing 37 mm tall, the miniature figure is detailed down to the hair, muscles, beard, toga, and even fingernails, holding the tourbillon carriage as a symbol of dominion over time.

The 44.25 mm rose gold case evokes a temple, featuring architectural lines inspired by Ionic columns. The sides of the case and crown are fluted like classical columns, while the sapphire caseback—deep azure in color—bears the engraved signature and portrait of founder Jacob Arabo. The watch celebrates his 60th birthday.
