Louis Vuitton dazzles watch world: From flying tourbillons to a “Time Truck” desk clock

At LVMH Watch Week 2026, Louis Vuitton is once again making headlines in haute horlogerie by turning its signature “art of travel” into mechanical spectacle, reports Hypebeast.

Escale Collection Goes Platinum

The biggest announcement is the refreshed Escale line, where world-time functionality meets high jewelry craftsmanship. The new Escale Worldtime debuts in a platinum case and features a dial decorated with 24 miniature city flags, each hand-painted by artisans at La Fabrique des Arts. Crafting one flag ring takes a full week, involving 35 colors and an ultra-fine brush.

For those who prefer a more celestial aesthetic, Louis Vuitton also unveiled the Escale Flying Tourbillon. Instead of miniature paintings, the dial uses Grand Feu enamel, while the tourbillon cage is shaped like the brand’s iconic Monogram star. Both models are powered by new in-house automatic calibers with a 62-hour power reserve.

A World-Time Watch That Works “To the Minute”

The second major release is the Escale Twin Zone, which solves a longstanding problem with time zones offset by 30 or 45 minutes. The watch features four hands mounted on a single axis, allowing time to be adjusted “to the minute” using only the crown. The pink-gold version includes a silver globe dial, while the high-jewelry platinum edition resembles a starry sky, with aventurine and over 300 baguette diamonds.

The Sound of Time: Escale Minute Repeater

Louis Vuitton’s Escale Minute Repeater is another standout. The watch not only displays time—it chimes it, producing a clear, bell-like sound. The dial is crafted on a vintage guilloché machine, while the repeater slider is discreetly integrated into the case lugs to preserve the watch’s clean silhouette. The movement includes 432 components, offers an 80-hour power reserve, and pairs a jumping hour with a retrograde minute hand.

Tiger’s Eye in Gold

For lovers of natural stones, Louis Vuitton introduced Escale Tiger Eye, a limited series of 30 pieces. The case and details are made of yellow gold, while the bezel and dial are carved from tiger’s eye—a shimmering golden-brown gemstone. The watch houses the LFT023 chronometric caliber with a 22k gold micro-rotor and a 50-hour power reserve.

Tambour Convergence Guilloché

Another highlight is the Tambour Convergence Guilloché, a 37-mm pink gold model featuring striking hand-guilloché decoration. Two antique machines (dating from 1850 and 1935) create the textured waves and sunburst patterns, with one plate requiring up to 16 hours of meticulous work. The watch is powered by Louis Vuitton’s first fully developed automatic movement, the LFT MA01.01.

The Most Playful Piece: Legendary Camionnette

The most whimsical surprise, however, is the Legendary Camionnette—a desk clock shaped like Louis Vuitton’s iconic early-20th-century delivery truck. Made from aluminum and painted in signature LV hues, the balance wheel sits inside the driver’s cabin. Time is displayed via rotating cylinders hidden under the hood. Developed in collaboration with L’Epée 1839, the movement offers 8 days of power reserve. A limited edition of 15 pieces transforms the model into a full jewelry object with diamonds, guilloché detailing, and classic LV accents.
