‘Bridgerton’ under the microscope: Fans spot plaster on Lady Araminta’s ear

“Bridgerton” fans have turned into amateur detectives, spotting a small but noticeable historical inaccuracy in Netflix’s latest season.

During a scene in Season 4, viewers noticed a flesh-colored bandage on Katie Leung—who plays Lady Araminta—covering what appeared to be a cartilage piercing.

While “Bridgerton” is already known for its playful approach to history, frequently using fake eyelashes and nails, some fans were surprised to see the plaster. After all, it wasn’t invented until the 1920s, while the show is set in the early 19th century.

“It’s probably just covering a piercing,” one TikTok user suggested. “Yeah, they could have made it look nicer—at least with a stylish cuff,” added another.

Some viewers quickly noticed that the bandage doesn’t appear in other shots, suggesting it was likely a simple oversight during filming.

Not all fans, however, were concerned about the mistake. Many defended the series: “Guys, it’s Bridgerton. It’s not supposed to be historically perfect.” “Why get hung up over a tiny hole in an actress’s ear? People have lives outside their roles,” commented others.

Netflix has faced similar criticism before. In Season 5 of Stranger Things, viewers spotted an Under Armour logo on a T-shirt worn by Holly Wheeler—despite the brand not existing until 1996, while the show’s events took place in 1987. Netflix corrected the scene a week after the episode aired.
