Cristiano Ronaldo remains in Saudi Arabia as club debunks “escape” rumors amid regional tensions

Amid swirling social media rumors suggesting Cristiano Ronaldo had abruptly left the Middle East due to escalating regional tensions, the Portuguese superstar was calmly training with his team.

Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr released photos of Ronaldo at the club’s Riyadh training base, following intense online speculation. The rumors were sparked after the 41-year-old forward’s private jet, valued at £61 million, departed the country late Monday night.

However, it has now been confirmed that Ronaldo has not left Saudi Arabia. The club had also posted footage of him working out in the gym just the day before.

Despite staying put, fans will not see Ronaldo on the pitch in the immediate future. Al-Nassr revealed that the forward suffered a hamstring injury in his most recent match against Al-Fayha. According to the official statement, Ronaldo has begun a rehabilitation program, with his condition to be monitored daily.

Ronaldo was substituted during the team’s 3-1 victory, raising concerns about the severity of the injury—especially with major international tournaments approaching. Reports indicate that he earns around £488,000 per day playing in the Saudi Pro League.

Flight tracking data shows the jet departed Riyadh around 8:00 p.m. local time and landed in Spain nearly seven hours later, with a route over Egypt and the Mediterranean. It was this flight that fueled speculation about the star’s potential departure.
