A resurfaced interview with Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, the mother of former U.S. President Donald Trump, has gone viral, igniting widespread discussion across social media.

The archival clip, filmed in 1994 for the Irish talk show It’s Bibi hosted by Olive Bibi Baskin, features Mary Trump speaking about her Scottish roots, her family life, and personal tragedies — including the death of her eldest son, Fred Trump Jr..

After the footage was shared on X (formerly Twitter), viewers quickly pointed out what they described as a striking resemblance between Trump and his late mother — not only in appearance, but in mannerisms and speech.

“He talks exactly like his mom — even the gestures,” one user wrote.
“She looks like Donald wearing a wig and Victorian makeup,” another commented.
“Genetics really did their job — he got all her features,” a third added.

Many also noted similarities in speech patterns, including pauses and sighs. “That signature sigh at the end of sentences — just like his mother,” one post read. Others suggested that Trump’s manner of speaking reflects a deep admiration for her.

Trump himself has frequently spoken warmly about his mother. Ahead of Mother’s Day in May 2025, he described her during a White House event as “an angel,” while noting she could also be строгой when needed.

He has also highlighted her strong connection to Scotland and her admiration for Queen Elizabeth II, including during a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in 2025.

The renewed attention to the interview underscores how archival footage can reshape public perception — and in this case, spark a viral conversation about family resemblance at the highest levels of politics.
