Tyrannosaurus leather handbag goes up for auction with $670,000 starting price

VML, The Organoid Company, and Lab-Grown Leather Ltd. have unveiled a revolutionary material — the world’s first leather created from tyrannosaurus collagen.

Polish designer Michał Hadas, founder of the innovative techwear brand Enfin Levé, transformed the material into a one-of-a-kind handbag, which made its debut on April 2 at the Art Zoo Museum. The exhibition will run for six weeks, after which the handbag will be auctioned with an expected starting price of $670,000.

The design combines aesthetic appeal with cutting-edge technology: a deep turquoise hue, DNA-helix hardware connecting the strap to the body, and functional features including a front zipper and ventilation holes that allow the bag to expand based on its contents. Sized similarly to a classic “letter bag,” the piece emphasizes both utility and status.
