Today we remember our great-great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents, as well as the parts of them that live within us — and the parts of ourselves that remind us of them. This was written on Instagram by Armenian-American actress Angela Sarafyan.
“Armenia exists on this earth as a heart and soul so deep that, no matter how small it may look on the map, its energy travels across generations. It is an abundance of beauty, light, and hope… that lives in nature, in the history it has witnessed, in the souls that have walked the same dusty roads, and in the whispers of moments only the trees are old enough to remember. The old and the new, the history that lives in our eyes and souls, and this fast-growing new city that becomes a light in the ‘Middle East’.”
“Thanks to our ancestors who survived, we are able to live today and create in this world…”
“Today we remember! April 24,” she noted, sharing photos from her visit to Armenia last summer.
