The attempt, verified under strict Guinness World Records rules, required the dessert to be prepared and assembled live on site. Organisers used around 50,000 ladyfinger biscuits and more than 3,000 eggs to construct the record-breaking sweet.
The final length of 440.6 metres secured the new world record, according to BBC.
Guinness World Records officials confirmed the achievement the following day.
The project was led by Mirko Ricci, who had previously held the same record in 2017 before losing it to another Italian team in 2019. This latest attempt marks his return to the top — this time on British soil.
Ricci described tiramisu as “the most incredible dessert Italy has ever exported,” adding that choosing the United Kingdom as the location was a gesture of appreciation.
He also said the giant dessert was dedicated to King Charles and the British Royal Family, with the finished structure decorated with a golden crown.
Chef Carmelo Carnevale explained that the record required precise dimensions: the tiramisu had to be at least 8 cm high and 15 cm wide throughout its full length.
When asked about the secret to a perfect tiramisu, he summed it up simply: “Very good coffee, a firm cream, and a lot of passion.”
