At the same time, Meloni stressed that the issue goes far beyond political jokes, calling it a serious problem. According to her, deepfakes have become a dangerous tool for manipulating public opinion. “Deepfakes are a dangerous tool because they can mislead, manipulate, and harm anyone. I can defend myself, but many others cannot,” she said.
Meloni also criticized the use of artificial intelligence to produce fake content aimed at discrediting politicians and voters, emphasizing the need for stronger regulation of such technologies.
