13:21 22 May, 2026President Donald Trump isn't yet committed to attending his eldest son's wedding.
Amid reports that Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson are planning to tie the knot in the Bahamas over the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, the president was asked by reporters whether he would be in attendance. Currently, his official schedule shows that he will be at his summer home in Bedminster, N.J., this weekend, PEOPLE writes.
“He'd like me to go," the president said of Don Jr. "But it's going to be just a small, little private affair. I'm gonna try and make it.”
The president, 79, continued, “I said, 'You know this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things.' "
"That's one I can't win on," he added. "If I do attend, I get killed. If I don't attend, I get killed — by the fake news, of course."
He did note, however, that he's known Bettina for a "long time" and hopes the couple will "have a great marriage."
Don Jr., 48, and Bettina, 39, announced their engagement at a White House holiday event on Dec. 15, 2025, with an introduction from the president himself.
