Only Two on the Planet: Bugatti to Build a $20 Million Insane Hypercar

Bugatti has never aimed to build cars for the mass market. However, a secret project whose details have leaked online is set to surprise even the most seasoned collectors.

The company’s exclusive coachbuilding division, Programme Solitaire—created to produce one-off hypercars—is reportedly working on its third masterpiece. Insiders from The Supercar Blog say Bugatti is developing a wild hybrid that combines two completely different concepts: the track-focused Bolide and the sleek, refined Tourbillon.

A design challenge: fusing ice and fire

The idea reads like a challenge to the laws of physics, as the two cars sit at opposite ends of the design spectrum:

Bugatti Bolide (2020): An extreme track machine. Exposed carbon fiber everywhere, aggressive aerodynamic appendages, and a silhouette seemingly carved by wind tunnel precision.
Bugatti Tourbillon (2024): The brand’s new-generation road hypercar. Sculptural, elegant, timeless design paired with a hybrid V16 powertrain.

The new bespoke project will reportedly be based on the proven Chiron platform and its legendary 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine. However, the bodywork will become a battleground between two design philosophies.

From the Bolide, it is expected to inherit aggressive X-shaped LED lighting and extreme aerodynamic wings. From the Tourbillon, it will borrow the signature horseshoe grille and smooth, muscular proportions.

A billionaire’s entry ticket

The official price has not been revealed, but it can be estimated based on previous Programme Solitaire creations:

  1. The first project—a refined coupé called Brouillard, inspired by Ettore Bugatti’s beloved white horse.
  2. The second project—the red F.K.P. Hommage, dedicated to Ferdinand Karl Piëch, the man who revived Bugatti and brought the Veyron to life. Its price reportedly exceeded $20 million.

This new Bolide–Tourbillon mashup is expected to cost no less. Rumors suggest Bugatti will build only two examples for key brand collectors.

For individuals like Cristiano Ronaldo (owner of the unique La Voiture Noire worth $18.7 million) or Jay-Z, such projects are more than luxury—they are the essence of collecting. Programme Solitaire’s philosophy is simple: take a client’s wildest automotive fantasy, hand it to Bugatti’s top designers in Molsheim, and create a masterpiece that will never be repeated.

The official debut of this unique hypercar is expected in late Q2 or early Q3 of 2026.
