Over the past 12 months, Audi AG has decisively stepped on the accelerator, launching a major showcase of its rich heritage in innovation and high performance. In this short period, the German brand has unveiled a futuristic design language with the all-electric Concept C sports car, entered a factory team into the 2026 Formula 1 season, and now introduced what it calls “the fastest and most powerful production car in the brand’s history” — the Audi Nuvolari hybrid supercar.
According to the official press release, the Nuvolari is powered by a combination of a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine (producing 800 hp and 730 Nm of torque) and three axial-flux electric motors, each delivering 147.5 hp (110 kW). Two electric motors are mounted on the front axle and generate a combined 2,150 Nm of torque, while the third is integrated between the V8 engine and the transmission.
The electric system is powered by a 7.3 kWh lithium-ion battery. Thanks to this setup, performance figures are striking: 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 2.6 seconds, while top speed exceeds 350 km/h — for a production Audi.
The Nuvolari features four main driving modes:
- E-Hybrid (fully electric mode);
- Balanced (optimizes the combined operation of the internal combustion engine and electric motors);
- Dynamic (enhances sporty character);
- Dynamic+ (maximum output and pure adrenaline).
In addition, a Track Mode is available, allowing fine tuning for dry or wet circuits, enabling race optimization, or fully disabling traction control.
The press release also notes that the Nuvolari debuts a new technological combination for Audi: the pairing of the brand’s Space Frame architecture with a fully carbon-fiber body. Another first for a production model is the use of forged wheels with a central locking nut.
Minimalist Interior and a Tribute to History
Limited information is available about the interior so far. Based on early images of the pre-production prototype, the cabin appears to be a study in minimalism. It features carbon-fiber bucket seats, while most front-console functions are controlled via touchscreens rather than physical buttons.
The new model is named after legendary Italian racing driver Tazio Nuvolari. The supercar represents Audi’s bold statement of intent to once again deliver an engineering triumph that has long defined the brand. Limited to just 499 units, it is expected to go on sale in mid-2027, with production beginning in the second quarter of that year.
