How Marta Kostyuk’s "Wedding" Dress Conquered the Tennis World

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk turned heads at Wimbledon, debuting her second wedding-style tennis dress after her original look—co-created with her apparel sponsor Wilson—went viral in 2024.

Back then, the Madrid Open champion flaunted an exact performance replica of her 2023 wedding dress on the court. Also designed by the brand, it featured a light, sheer overlay over a sleeveless dress.

For this year’s tournament, Kostyuk returned to the beloved design, unveiling the "Marta Dress 2.0." This time, the outfit is crafted from high-tech lace resembling a bridal veil.

According to Wilson, the design is a: "Sophisticated two-piece construction consisting of a bra top, vest, and skirt, complemented by engineered lace inserts that elevate the look while maintaining all the functionality required for elite performance sports."

Just like the original "Marta" dress, the new version was released for public sale. Despite its €170 price tag, the outfit is already almost completely sold out.

The bridal-inspired "Marta 2.0" dress captivated fans with its elegant style. In motion, the double-layered skirt simultaneously evokes images of both ballerinas and brides.

In the future, this outfit could become an important museum piece: her iconic 2024 kit has already been donated to the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum at the All England Club.

Kostyuk is rapidly advancing through the Wimbledon draw. In the first round, she confidently defeated Nadia Podoroska, followed by a second-round victory over Anna Blinkova.

After her opening win against Podoroska, Kostyuk posted a photo of herself twirling on the court, showcasing the airy lightness of her skirt, with the caption: "First dance completed."

Fans instantly showered the tennis player with compliments, admiring just how "beautiful" her dress was.
