Daring heist in France: $5 million worth of masterpieces stolen from the Lalique Museum

The management of the Lalique Museum has officially confirmed a massive break-in at its archives. Following a meticulously planned early-morning heist, thieves infiltrated the jewelry gallery and stole unique early 20th-century masterpieces created by the legendary French jeweler and glassmaker René Lalique, Hypebeast reports.

The perpetrators made off with approximately 27 artifacts, with their total value estimated at around $5 million. Interestingly, this heist differs fundamentally from classic jewelry robberies that target raw diamonds or gold bullion. To gain access to the archival collections, the masked robbers forced open a backup emergency exit before systematically smashing six reinforced glass display cases in the main exhibition hall.
