Armenian-Founded Luxury Brand Petrossian Receives Prestigious Art de Vivre Award

The luxury food house Petrossian, founded by Armenian brothers Melkoum and Mouchegh Petrossian, has been honored with the 2026 Art de Vivre Award, presented annually by L'Alliance New York, Huys Media reports. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to preserving and promoting the French art of living through gastronomy, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage.

The story of Petrossian began in Paris in 1920, when the Armenian brothers established what would become one of the world's most prestigious gourmet luxury brands. Having fled their homeland following the tragedies of the early 20th century, the brothers rebuilt their lives in France from scratch. More than a century later, the family name has become synonymous with exceptional quality, luxury, and fine dining.

Petrossian is widely credited with introducing France—and later much of the Western world—to the culture of caviar. By transforming a rare delicacy into a symbol of culinary luxury, the company helped redefine fine gastronomy. Today, more than 100 years after its founding, Petrossian remains a global benchmark in the world of caviar, with boutiques and restaurants across Europe, North America, and Asia. The brand has become an enduring symbol of refinement, excellence, and the French art de vivre.

The award was accepted on behalf of the family by the company's new generation of leaders, Mikaël Petrossian and Alexandre Petrossian, who continue to expand the business while preserving the traditions established by its founders.

Following the ceremony, Mikaël Petrossian said the distinction recognizes not only the company's commercial success, but also the family values, trust, and decades of dedication that have allowed Petrossian to remain a global standard of excellence for more than a century.

Established in 2014, the Art de Vivre Award honors influential figures and brands in the worlds of luxury, fashion, design, gastronomy, and the arts.
