13:35 20 July, 202628-year-old Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney is adding another provocative project to her filmography. According to Deadline, the actress is set to lead a feature-length reimagining of the legendary story of Sleepy Hollow.
Titled Hollow, the film will serve as an adaptation of the debut novel by Lindsay Anderson Beer, who will write the screenplay, direct, and produce the project.
According to Deadline, the new film is being pitched as a Gothic erotic thriller blended with psychological drama and supernatural mystery.
Unlike Washington Irving’s classic 1820 short story and Tim Burton’s iconic 1999 film starring Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci, the plot will shift the focus squarely onto Katrina Van Tassel. Portrayed by Sweeney, the character will be far more than just a trophy for men, finding herself at the center of a dangerous and seductive supernatural love triangle between Ichabod Crane and Brom Bones.
The project will mark the first film under Honey Trap, the production banner newly founded by Sweeney. Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment and Sony Pictures will co-produce.
