Miss Universe Jamaica Finalist LaToya Malcolm Passes Away Aged 35

Former Miss Universe Jamaica finalist LaToya Malcolm has passed away at the age of 35. Her death was officially announced by the pageant's organizers.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Miss Universe Jamaica alumna LaToya Malcolm, who proudly competed for the title in 2024,” read a statement published on the organization’s Instagram page.

“Our sincere condolences go out to her family, friends, and loved ones. Rest in peace, LaToya, you will never be forgotten.”

The cause of death has not been disclosed at this time.

In addition to competing in the national selection for Miss Universe 2024 (where Rachel Silvera ultimately took the crown), Malcolm won the title of "Miss Jamaica Bikini International" that same year. Organizers described her as an "actress and entertainer with over ten years of experience in the entertainment industry." According to her social media profiles, she also worked as a choreographer and TV presenter.

LaToya published her final social media post on July 3, sharing a photograph of herself backstage at the morning TV show TVJ Smile Jamaica.
