Elon Musk Promises "Historically Accurate" AI Adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey

The world's richest man, Elon Musk, claims that his generative AI platform will create a movie strictly following Homer's original work. The statement comes amid his harsh criticism of the casting for Christopher Nolan's new blockbuster.

"Before the end of this year, Grok Imagine will create a full-length feature film of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and faithful to Homer's art," Musk wrote on the social media platform X. He attached a three-minute video created by a user using Grok Imagine, featuring a dialogue between Odysseus and the nymph Calypso.

Cultural War Over Nolan's Casting

Musk attempted to spark a "culture war" around Nolan's film (which stars Matt Damon as Odysseus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope), despite the movie opening last Friday to huge commercial success and rave reviews.

Prior to the premiere, Musk actively reposted offensive messages targeting Nolan's decision to cast Black actress Lupita Nyong'o as Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra, as well as transgender actor Elliot Page as Sinon. Musk commented that Nolan "just wants to win awards" and has "lost his integrity."
