Kim Kardashian Mocks Her Failed Bar Exam in a Self-Deprecating New Ad

The 45-year-old reality star poke fun at failing the bar exam in a tongue-in-cheek new ad for her energy drink brand, Update, posted to her Instagram.

As a reminder, Kardashian took the bar exam in July 2025 and publicly admitted a few months later that she hadn't passed.

"I Didn't Pass the Bar. I Raised It."

In one scene from the promo video, Kardashian sits inside a transparent glass cube in a museum-like space. Visitors walk by until one woman approaches and asks: "Did she even pass the bar?"

The operatic music playing in the background cuts out abruptly. The mother of four turns toward the visitor and confidently responds: "No. I didn't pass the bar. I raised it."

With that, Kim calmly goes back to reviewing her paperwork, a can of Update sitting right beside her.

"Are They Real?": Press Conferences and Lab Coats

The video opens styled as a press conference. Kardashian approaches the podium wearing a striking black leather outfit with a plunging neckline and stylish sunglasses. "People are always asking me about the work I've had done," the star says, dramatically taking off her glasses, playing on the phrase's double meaning for cosmetic procedures.

Looking straight into the camera, she adds: "Not that kind of work."

Amid flashing cameras, Kim continues: "They're always asking, 'Kim, how do you do it all? Kim, how do you keep going? Kim, are they real?'"—at which point the camera abruptly zooms in on her chest before she takes a sip of her energy drink.

When a reporter calls out, "Kim, why you?" she answers without hesitation: "I just didn't know there was an alternative." To the follow-up question, "Kim, why now?" the star quips: "Caffeine just stopped working, and work is my thing."

In another frame, Kim appears in a laboratory rocking a voluminous platinum wig: "Update was formulated by a team of leading experts... and none of them are me," Kim jests.

In the caption accompanying the post, the businesswoman succinctly declared: "The future of energy."
