Israeli Millionaire and TV Star Yakir Levi Dies in Miami Under Mysterious Circumstances

The 45-year-old entrepreneur and former IDF special forces veteran fell to his death from a balcony at the luxury Acqualina resort in Sunny Isles Beach. While police lean toward suicide, those closest to him adamantly refuse to believe it.

Yakki "Yakir" Levi, 45, had planned to spend Monday evening hanging out with two close friends at the high-end Acqualina Resort and Residences in Sunny Isles Beach, Miami, The New York Post reports.

Levi's friends had just pulled up to the valet area when Yakir sent them a brief text: "On my way down."

Just seconds later, a "loud, heavy thud" echoed across the property. Hotel guests began screaming that someone had fallen from an upper-floor balcony.

First responders and paramedics arriving at the scene at 9:30 PM pronounced the man dead. The victim was identified as Levi—a successful businessman who resided in Los Angeles with his wife, Meital Gershoni, and their three children.

The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homicide Bureau is currently investigating the incident. The death was initially listed as "unclassified," with detectives seizing his personal belongings and cell phone for forensic analysis. However, police reports currently list "suicide" as the primary working theory.

"It's Impossible": Loved Ones Reject the Suicide Theory

Yakir’s family and friends are stunned by the police department's initial findings and categorically reject the idea that Levi could have taken his own life. "They were all about to go out together. It makes zero sense," close friend Eran Hersh told the Daily Mail. "I simply cannot believe he would commit suicide. Just the day before, he was relaxing on a yacht, smoking a cigar, and living his best life."

Indeed, just one day prior to the tragedy, Levi was tagged in a group photo on Instagram looking visibly happy and relaxed.

Friends describe Levi as a vibrant, charismatic, and endlessly energetic individual. Before moving to the United States, he served in an elite special forces unit within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Born in the city of Ramla, Israel, Yakir arrived in America with just $300 in his pocket. Through sheer drive, he built a multi-million-dollar empire from scratch—a major property restoration company specializing in post-disaster recovery.

His rag-to-riches success story became so renowned that Yakir was featured in the popular Israeli Channel 13 reality series The Americans, which spotlights Israeli expats pursuing and achieving the "American Dream."

According to The Jerusalem Post, Yakir Levi will be laid to rest in his native Israel.
