£3m-a-Week Floating Hotels: The Eye-Watering Cost of Hollywood's Luxury Yachting Summer Revealed

Superyacht summer is in full swing: from the French Riviera to the Amalfi Coast, A-listers are dropping anchor on vessels worth tens of millions of pounds.

While it is undeniably one of the most luxurious ways to unwind, the price tag for such a getaway is staggering—with charter rates on select mega-yachts soaring up to £3 million a week.

Superyachts have become the go-to choice for first-rate celebrities: with a full crew on hand, they don't have to lift a finger while island-hopping between elite hotspots. The Kardashians, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Leonardo DiCaprio, and many others prefer shelling out colossal sums on charters rather than buying their own vessels outright.

The Kardashians: £450,000 a week

The Kardashian sisters kicked off their summer in the South of France, arriving to support Kim’s boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton, at the Monte Carlo Formula 1 Grand Prix.

When they weren't watching the race, the family relaxed aboard the motor yacht Naia, which charters for £450,000 ($600,000) a week.

What does it actually cost?

The base charter fee is only a fraction of the total bill. Guests pay an additional 30–40% on top of the base price for fuel, food, drinks, and berthing fees. Standard crew tips run another 10–15%, adding at least £45,000 to the tab.

The 73-meter Naia offers billionaire-level amenities: a helipad, gym, jacuzzi, massage room, and 8 cabins serviced by a 20-person crew.

Erling Haaland: £225,000 a week

After serving as the face of the 2026 World Cup and leading Norway to the quarterfinals, Erling Haaland headed off on a well-deserved break.

The footballer celebrated his 26th birthday in the Mediterranean alongside his girlfriend, Isabel Haugseng Johansen, and friends. The group relaxed off the coast of Sardinia aboard the 24-meter yacht Elis Et Mar, which costs around £225,000 ($300,000) per week to charter.

Accommodating 12 guests, the vessel features Vegas-style interiors complete with yellow marble flooring. On deck, Erling was even seen practicing his golf swing and free kicks.

Kevin Hart: £540,000 a week

Actor and comedian Kevin Hart and his family spent their vacation aboard one of the Mediterranean's most glamorous superyachts—the 72-meter Axioma.

Chartering the Axioma during high season costs between £485,000 and £540,000 per week. Factoring in all expenses, the family’s weekly bill came to roughly £700,000 to £850,000.

The Beckham Family: From £1.6m a week

Before David and Victoria purchased their own £15 million yacht Seven (later upgrading to a 36-meter £20 million model), they chartered the 95-meter superyacht Madsummer.

Chartering this giant cost a jaw-dropping £1.6 million a week. On board, guests enjoy a 12-meter swimming pool, spa area, professional dive center, cinema, and a 28-person crew.

David's son Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz managed to outdo his parents: last summer, they vacationed aboard the £85 million Project X. The yacht’s weekly charter fee was £1.2 million (with the final bill reaching around £1.8 million after expenses). However, Nicola’s father—American billionaire Nelson Peltz—picked up the tab.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z: £2,600,000 a week

One of the most expensive celebrity yacht charters in history remains the £160 million ($213 million) Kismet, owned by Fulham FC owner Shahid Khan.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z chartered the 95-meter vessel for a family getaway during a break in her world tour. The ship features a multi-level pool, basketball court, beauty salon, helipad, and cinema.

Chartering Kismet costs between £2.2 million and £2.6 million per week plus extra expenses—a price tag that firmly separates the "merely rich" from the true elite of the billionaire world.
