Jared Leto Accused of Sexual Assault and Grooming Minors

Four women have accused the Oscar winner and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto of sexual misconduct, alleging the acts took place when they were teenagers.

The allegations against the 54-year-old entertainer span a timeframe when the alleged victims were between 16 and 19 years old.

• Assault in a Motel: One woman alleged she was sexually assaulted in a motel bathroom when she was 17 years old.

• Threats in a Hotel Room: Another woman recounted that the Dallas Buyers Club star threatened her with sexual assault in a hotel room after she unexpectedly found herself alone with him at age 19.

• Statutory Rape Allegations: A third woman claimed she engaged in a sexual relationship with the artist at age 17, which constitutes statutory rape in California (where the age of consent is 18). She noted that Leto simply "brushed it off" when she brought up the law.

• Grooming and Explicit Calls: A fourth victim accused Leto of grooming, claiming he abused his celebrity status to make explicit sexual phone calls to her when she was just 16 years old, directly proposing sex on at least one occasion. According to the BBC, attempts were made to get her to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to keep quiet about their relationship, but she refused.

The Explosive Documentary

These shocking details emerged in a new BBC investigative documentary titled Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret. In total, 10 women appeared in the film, nine of whom decided to share their stories publicly for the very first time.

The incidents described occurred between 2002 and 2016, when the actor was in his 30s and 40s.

Four additional women claimed that, in their youth, they received strange calls from Leto laced with inappropriate undertones. Furthermore, one contributor recalled an incident that happened when she was 14 years old: during an autograph session, the actor made a crude comment about her chest and instructed a security guard to bring her backstage at a music festival. When the girl's mother tried to intervene, Leto simply repeated the remark. "That was 25 years ago... and all this time he’s just gotten away with it," one of the victims stated.

Jared Leto Denies All Allegations

Jared Leto has vehemently denied all accusations made against him. In an official statement, the actor maintained: "I have never in my life sexually assaulted anyone. These claims are entirely and categorically false."
