12:13 8 August, 2026The wife of basketball legend LeBron James faced arrogance at a luxury European boutique but quickly achieved justice.
39-year-old Savannah James appeared on Danielle Robay's podcast Question Everything, joined by her friend and podcast co-host April McDaniel. During the conversation, the women recalled an unpleasant incident during a trip to Europe when they encountered blatant rudeness at an Italian Hermès boutique.
According to McDaniel, who had booked a VIP shopping appointment for them in advance, the staff at the Italian store behaved outrageously. Despite having an official reservation, a boutique employee tried to turn them away at the entrance.
"They treated us like shit," McDaniel stated. "But in the end, they shut down that whole fucking store."
Savannah confirmed her friend's words with a sigh, and McDaniel added that the saleswoman ultimately paid for it with her job. "And they fired the lady. I said, 'We'll be back for you. I'll be right back.'"
The friends shared that they had initially come with a specific request—to look at crocodile leather items. After the situation escalated and the boutique's management was brought in, the staff's attitude changed drastically.
"We were in the private room with champagne and caviar," McDaniel recalled. "I said, 'How many bags you got? Ten?' They brought out everything. I said I'll take bathing suits and I'm buying silverware."
The friends' European adventures did not end there. Later, they encountered a similarly cold reception in France, at a Chanel boutique. According to the women, a sales associate rudely snapped at Savannah multiple times, forbidding her from touching a miniature bag even though it was meant for client display.
When asked by the host whether experiences of this nature ruin the overall impression of luxury shopping, April McDaniel gave a categorical "no":
"I'm calling the boss. We're closing the store down. She can go like that. I'm closing it down. You're fired."
