Harry Potter Star Earns More on OnlyFans Than From Entire Acting Career

Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, has spoken candidly about her financial salvation. According to the 39-year-old actress, launching an OnlyFans page brought her more money than her entire multi-year career in cinema.

Jessie joined the platform in March 2025 when she was on the verge of financial ruin. The mother of four admitted that after a nervous breakdown, she decided to quit acting for good, but faced a harsh reality.

"I couldn't go work in a supermarket, for example, because I couldn't afford a nanny, and I didn't want people shouting Harry Potter spells at me right at the checkout in Tesco. I couldn't retrain either—I don't have the money to get a new degree. I had a breakdown and thought: that's it, acting is over, I give up. But there was no money at all. It was a point of complete despair," the actress shared in an interview with The Times.

Instead of explicit content, Cave found a completely unique and niche market: hair videos. She films clips where she brushes and braids her long hair, dressing up variously as an elf, a maid, or that very same Lavender Brown.

"My rule is that the hair is the main star. That's how I justify it. It's literally about the hair: hair texture. About a fetish. It's very, very niche."

Initially, the actress expected to earn around five thousand pounds and last a couple of months, but the project "saved their lives" and has now been going on for over a year and a half.

On her very first day on the platform, Jessie earned over £15,000 (about $20,200). Although some subscribers unsubscribed once they realized there would be no nudity, she built a loyal fan base.

Aside from the financial side, the project helped the actress cope with feelings of invisibility after having four children. According to her, she appreciated the attention, since in everyday life she is used to wearing baggy T-shirts and huge glasses, remaining a "quirky character."

Despite its success, her choice of platform came with a cost. Last year, Cave revealed that she was banned from a Harry Potter convention because of her OnlyFans account, with organizers citing that the franchise is a "family show" and the platform is associated with pornography.

The actress herself was not upset by the rejection. "It was absurd, because many actors film sex scenes and get naked in movies. And I'm just playing with my hair! But I'm not upset at the prospect of no longer going to conventions. A new cast will appear soon, times are changing. Besides, I went to them for over 15 years and I have enough photos and magical memorabilia."
