Whitney Houston Turned Into a Barbie: Mattel Releases Collector Doll in Iconic Look from "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" Music Video

Mattel has decided to honor the memory of legendary pop singer Whitney Houston by releasing a new doll from the Barbie Signature series, inspired by her bright and recognizable look from the 1987 music video for "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)."

The collector's doll, priced at $60, went on sale on August 8 and is available at Target stores as well as online on Amazon, Walmart, and Mattel Creations.

The doll is dressed in a striking purple tank-dress. The look is completed by bold, chunky earrings and signature expressive eye makeup. Of course, the doll is fully performance-ready—it comes complete with its own microphone stand.
