“She Rode in the Trunk for Trump”: New Details Emerge About the President’s Devoted Aide Natalie Harp

The unusual story emerged amid a new political clash between the White House and Democratic Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff, who publicly mentioned Harp during a campaign rally as he seeks reelection to the Senate.

According to CNN, the incident occurred in October 2023, when Trump traveled to New York for a court hearing, while Joe Biden was still president.

According to the network’s sources, Harp got into a “heated exchange” with other staff members before the trip after claiming that Trump had personally asked her to be there.

When she was told there was no room for her in the vehicle, the aide found an unusual solution — she climbed into the SUV’s cargo area.

CNN’s sources cited the incident as an example of Harp’s behavior, which they said could frustrate some members of the president’s inner circle because of her persistence and determination to remain close to him.

One of Trump’s advisers said the president “likes the attention” Harp gives him, as well as the fact that she is “100% devoted and loyal” to him. “She doesn’t second-guess and doesn’t ask unnecessary questions,” the source said.

The story gained widespread attention amid a heated war of words between the White House and Ossoff.

During a rally on Sunday, the senator said Trump “doesn’t want to do his job” and instead wants to “build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on his apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”

White House spokesman Davis Ingle hit back at Ossoff, describing Natalie Harp as “one of the most devoted and hardest-working aides on President Trump’s team.”

On Monday, White House communications director Steven Cheung also launched a fierce attack on the senator, using insulting language against him.

Ossoff later explained his comments in an interview with MS NOW. He said he mentioned Harp because he considers her one of the people who enables the president.

“I’ve heard this particular aide referred to as his security blanket. And I think the same can be said of a whole host of senior White House staff. They don’t tell him what he needs to hear. They tell him what he wants to hear,” the senator said.

Administration officials told Semafor that they consider the comments inappropriate.

Trump’s “Human Printer”

Natalie Harp has been considered one of Trump’s closest aides for several years. She has earned the nickname “the human printer” because she regularly carries stacks of printed news stories for the president.

Harp is also trusted to take dictation for Trump’s posts on Truth Social, where the president frequently announces major decisions.

According to reports, Harp once even ran alongside Trump’s golf cart while he was playing in Scotland so she could quickly relay the latest news to him.

She was also part of a small group of aides, including Trump’s former caddie Dan Scavino, who switched planes with the president on the tarmac in Ankara. The move reportedly came after Israeli intelligence warned of an alleged Iranian attack being planned against Air Force One. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and several dozen journalists remained on board.

Sources cited by the Daily Mail have described Harp as Trump’s “link to the outside world” and claimed that she may have even more access to the president than his chief of staff, Susie Wiles.

In 2024, The New York Times published a letter Harp wrote to Trump in which she said: “You are the only person who matters to me.”

Harp’s Brother Criticizes Her Relationship With Trump

Natalie Harp’s relationship with the president has previously drawn criticism from her brother, Preston Harp, who moved to Central America.

He told the Daily Mail that he considers his sister’s relationship with Trump “very unhealthy.”

“She’s just like his fan club,” Preston said.

He said he did not even know that his sister had started working for Trump until an acquaintance showed him a Daily Mail story about the president’s new aide in 2023.

“I had no idea,” Preston added. “And it caused a lot of internal conflict for me. I don’t understand why my sister — or anyone, for that matter — would want to work for Trump.”
