Brigitte Macron’s daughter follows in her mother’s footsteps with new romance — her boyfriend is 20 years younger

Tiphaine Auzière, the 42-year-old daughter of France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron, has reportedly embarked on a romance with 22-year-old student Antoine Lecomte — and the 20-year age gap between them bears a striking resemblance to her own mother’s love story.

Tiphaine shared a video on Instagram showing herself looking happy alongside the young student during a trip to Amsterdam.

The couple reportedly met this summer in Le Touquet, the glamorous resort town on France’s northwestern coast.

At the time, Lecomte was working there as a kitesurfing instructor. He was the one who taught Tiphaine how to ride an e-foil, a type of electric surfboard.

A close friend of the president’s stepdaughter told French magazine Gala that there was an immediate connection between the pair.

“It was obvious from the very beginning. They have a lot in common: their love of Le Touquet and thrills, as well as travel and entrepreneurship,” the source said.

Tiphaine’s new romance began following her split from Cyril Hanouna, the controversial French television presenter. Their relationship came to an end in May 2026.

It has also been reported that Tiphaine has already introduced Lecomte to her children, 12-year-old Élise and 10-year-old Aurèle.

Tiphaine, a lawyer and politician, is 20 years older than her new partner.

And that age gap has inevitably prompted comparisons with the relationship between her mother, Brigitte Macron, and French President Emmanuel Macron. Brigitte is 73, while Emmanuel is 48.

The love story between Brigitte and Emmanuel began when he was still a schoolboy. Macron was just 15 when he met Brigitte, who was teaching at the private La Providence school in Amiens, where he was a student.

At the time, Brigitte, 39, was married to André-Louis Auzière, with whom she had three children. After the relationship between her and the teenage Emmanuel came to light, his parents transferred him to another school.

The mother of the future president, Françoise Noguès-Macron, later told Emmanuel Macron’s biographer Anne Fulda that the family was deeply shocked by what was happening.

“We simply couldn’t believe it. When Emmanuel met Brigitte, we couldn’t just say, ‘How wonderful,’” she recalled.

According to Françoise, her greatest concern was not her son’s feelings for Brigitte, but making sure that nothing happened to him.

Macron’s father, Jean-Michel Macron, went even further, admitting that he “almost fell off his chair” when he first heard the news.

Tiphaine was just nine years old when her mother began her relationship with Emmanuel Macron.

“They were very much in love with each other, it was completely obvious, and it was very difficult for me,” she once said.

Despite the unusual circumstances surrounding the beginning of their relationship, Tiphaine later admitted that her mother’s love story with Emmanuel had shaped her own understanding of true love.

“If I had to give an example of love, it would be Emmanuel and Mum. When they are together, it feels as though the rest of the world simply doesn’t exist,” she said.
