22:22 2 September, 2026Maison Francis Kurkdjian is expanding its iconic “textile” fragrance collection with a captivating new creation, OUD velvet mood Extrait de parfum, where the artistry of modern perfumery meets the sensual softness of velvet.
The fragrance was inspired by a night spent among the ever-shifting, sun-warmed dunes of Liwa in the Persian Gulf. Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian sought to translate the tactile sensuality of desert sand into an enveloping olfactory caress.
The composition builds a bridge between Eastern heritage and French perfumery, combining the wild, animalic richness of natural oud with the vibrant, textured sweetness of peach.
The fragrance is enriched with the leathery, apricot-like facets of osmanthus and a soft suede accord. Together, they create an intimate “bare skin” effect, evoking quiet luxury, endless horizons and lingering warmth.
Reflecting the dark and mysterious depths of the fragrance, the bottle is crafted in the house’s signature square silhouette from dark-tinted crystal with faceted detailing. Continuing the concept of “dark as night, bright as gold,” the bottle is crowned with an architectural golden cap, while the house’s signature double-K emblem is engraved directly onto the glass.
The new creation is presented as an Extrait de parfum, a concentration that Kurkdjian considers the ultimate expression of fragrance intensity.
OUD velvet mood Extrait de parfum is available in 35 ml for approximately $305 and 70 ml for approximately $487.
