11:17 3 September, 2026Kim Kardashian has once again found herself in the crosshairs of social media users. This time, a video of her 13-year-old daughter, North West, sparked a heated debate, with many viewers accusing the family of going too far with editing the teenager’s appearance.
In the clip, posted to the TikTok account Kim shares with her daughter, North — whose father is Kanye West — dances to Rihanna’s 2006 hit SOS. The teenager showed off a trendy goth-inspired look, wearing a long blue wig, a black leather outfit and dramatic makeup.

But it was not North’s dancing that caught most viewers’ attention. Instead, followers focused on her appearance — particularly the heavy nose contouring, which some claimed made the teenager’s facial features look noticeably altered.
The comments quickly turned into a heated debate, with some users criticizing Kim Kardashian and accusing her of setting a poor example for her daughter.

“The way she contours her beautiful nose makes me so sad. What is even going on here??” one commenter wrote.
“Poor child. Adults have convinced her that her face isn’t beautiful enough on its own. Terrible parenting,” another user fumed.
However, North’s devoted fans rushed to defend her, reminding critics that experimenting with makeup, fashion and personal style is a classic part of being a teenager.
This is not the first time North and her famous mother have faced online backlash. In August 2025, the teenager sparked another social media storm after getting a microdermal piercing — two small metal anchors placed beneath the skin near the joint of the middle finger on her right hand.

Kim Kardashian was subsequently criticized for allowing her daughter to undergo such a dramatic form of body modification at such a young age, with commenters raising concerns about possible scarring and infection.
North, however, quickly shut down the criticism herself. In December, she posted a tongue-in-cheek TikTok video with the caption: “This is for everyone who’s mad about the finger piercing.”
