The “Sex Dome” Rises From the Ashes: Burning Man’s Controversial Adult Playground Returns With 15,000 Condoms

The infamous adult tent known as the Orgy Dome has made a triumphant return to the Burning Man festival after a storm literally wiped it off the map last year, according to the New York Post.

In 2025, powerful winds reaching up to 50 mph completely destroyed the 50-foot structure, causing organizers an estimated $30,000 in damage.

But the hedonistic oasis in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert has risen from the ashes thanks to an outpouring of donations. Crowdfunding campaigns raised $70,000 to bring the iconic venue back to life.

15,000 Condoms and a Strictly Regulated Zone for Passion

The revamped camp covers 6,000 square feet and features two spacious, air-conditioned tents. The project also received an unexpected boost: organizers were donated 15,000 condoms, which will be handed out to festivalgoers free of charge along with lubricant and commemorative towels.

This year, however, the organizers have introduced one unusual new rule:

• “We are NOT accepting donations of bed linens this year, sorry!” administrators warned on Instagram. “This also means there is no longer an option to skip the line without waiting.”

The camp’s other strict safety and etiquette rules remain unchanged:

• Visitors must be at least 18: IDs are checked strictly at the entrance.
• No alcohol or illicit substances: being under the influence inside the camp is strictly prohibited.
• Consent is mandatory: every visitor must attend a pre-entry workshop covering consent and appropriate behavior.
• The golden rule: come as a couple or with a group — or don’t come at all. Solo visitors are not allowed, a policy designed to prevent a “hunting” atmosphere and unwanted advances toward other guests.

How Does the Pleasure Camp Work?

Inside, the camp is divided into two functional areas:

1. “Open to More”: a huge 50-foot dome where strangers can engage in consensual intimate encounters.
2. “Just Us”: a smaller tent reserved exclusively for couples who want some privacy — as much privacy as is possible inside a communal tent.

Despite its strict rules and carefully enforced admission policies, roughly 10% of all Burning Man attendees reportedly make the pilgrimage to the Orgy Dome every year, making it one of the festival’s most popular destinations.
