Scandal-hit British aristocrat Garrett Moore, a 40-year-old elite party planner, has married 25-year-old American billionaire heiress Hope Chilton. The surprise union has attracted widespread attention in part because, shortly before the wedding, Moore had been planning to marry 1970s sex symbol Colleen Camp — the actress, now 73, who is 33 years older than her former fiancé and the same age as his mother.

The low-key, private ceremony took place at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Sophia in London’s Bayswater neighborhood earlier this spring, but the news has only now emerged, according to the Daily Mail.

Garrett Moore, the younger son of the Earl of Drogheda, is known in high society as the mastermind behind lavish immersive parties. His clients have included fashion houses such as Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, while guests at his exclusive events have included Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Harry Styles and Alexa Chung.

But in 2020, the socialite party planner became an international tabloid sensation over his romance with Hollywood actress Colleen Camp, best known for her roles in Apocalypse Now, Clue and the Police Academy franchise.

The couple announced their engagement when Moore was a 34-year-old bachelor and Camp was 67. The groom-to-be openly compared their relationship to the cult movie The Graduate, in which a young man is seduced by an older woman, while the actress described their romance as “magical.”

However, the relationship ended later that same year before they made it to the altar. Camp subsequently appeared to dial down the drama, telling reporters that their engagement had been “a joke that went too far” and adding: “We never even kissed.”

Chilton grew up in the United States and studied at the University of North Carolina before settling in London and becoming part of the British elite — helped in no small part by her father’s connections and her work at the exclusive private club Maxime’s on Madison Avenue, founded by longtime family friend Robin Birley.
