15:22 11 September, 2026Jennifer Lawrence has barely joined Instagram and is already threatening to leave the platform if fans start posting toxic or negative comments.
“Well, yeah, I decided to give it a try,” Lawrence said in a short video posted to Instagram. However, the Hollywood star, who signed up under the handle @jlaw, immediately issued a stern warning. “And if anyone says anything negative, I’m immediately leaving — no questions asked. If anyone thinks anything mean, I’ll know. I’ll know — and I’ll leave.”
The Oscar winner has never hidden the fact that she is not particularly fond of dealing with journalists while promoting her films, let alone maintaining official social media accounts. That is why Lawrence’s arrival on Instagram came as a surprise.
Her social media debut also comes at an important moment in her career: Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, who starred in the original The Hunger Games films from Lionsgate, are preparing to return to the franchise in the upcoming prequel The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
Lawrence will reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen, while Hutcherson will return as Peeta Mellark. Both actors are reportedly expected to appear in the film as part of a flash-forward sequence.
The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on November 20, 2026.
