19:26 11 September, 2026Ralph Lauren opened the doors to his intimate runway show, held for the third time at the Jack Shainman Gallery in Lower Manhattan. Viola Davis, Eiza González, Rachel Brosnahan, Ariana DeBose, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo and other celebrities gathered in the front row.

In previous seasons, Lauren had transformed the space with vintage furniture, lavish hand-painted tapestries and rich shades of green. This time, by contrast, he chose to highlight the gallery’s architecture, with its striking white marble. Painted canvases adorned the walls, while guests were seated on austere white fabric-covered benches, WWD reports.

It proved to be the perfect backdrop for a new collection built around contemporary interpretations of romance and sensuality, while remaining unmistakably Ralph Lauren. White and deep navy formed the foundation of the color palette.
For nearly 60 years, fans have turned to the brand for Lauren’s signature take on the American West, preppy style and sportswear. But for his Spring 2027 collection, the designer gave those familiar codes a younger, sexier edge, while drawing inspiration from different eras of fashion — from Edwardian silhouettes to dresses reminiscent of Mariano Fortuny and contemporary designs infused with utilitarian elements.

The show opened with reinterpretations of vintage and historical silhouettes. Lauren adapted them for the modern wardrobe, adding a youthful sense of boldness and sex appeal. A delicate cotton jacquard corset shirt with ties at the back was paired with slightly low-rise white trousers, decorated with a row of buttons running down the sides from mid-calf to the hem.

Next came cropped floral-jacquard jackets with an Old World feel, a flowing gold top featuring embroidery and a hand-painted effect, and ruffled crop tops that exposed the midriff, layered beneath sharply tailored jackets.

Despite the collection’s pronounced femininity, Lauren balanced many of the vintage elements with utilitarian trousers, distressed jeans and technical pieces made from parachute cotton. The result was his signature mix of rugged practicality and refinement.

Among the most striking pieces were a denim jacket crafted from cotton workwear fabric and adorned with marabou feathers, a sleek white leather jacket with a fully gathered back, and a dramatic braided shearling vest featuring a seamless gradient of shades.
For the evening looks, the designer continued experimenting with techniques. The runway featured lightweight dresses with knots and an intentionally crumpled effect created using the “Spritz and tumble” technique and hand-painting.

Lauren heightened the sensuality of the evening line with sheer dresses embellished with tiny hand-painted sequins, flowing silk lamé designs, as well as figure-hugging gowns with daring necklines and completely bare backs.

The collection concluded with authentic men’s suits, made at an Italian menswear factory but specially adapted to the female figure. The move served as a fitting extension of another important area of Lauren’s business: on Wednesday, it was announced that the designer had been nominated for the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards in the category of American Menswear Designer of the Year.

Ralph Lauren’s Spring collection brought together the timeless aesthetic that has kept customers loyal to the brand for decades with a fresh, sexier and more energetic take on it. The designer preserved his instantly recognizable style while taking its tailoring, craftsmanship and technical complexity to a new level.
