Naked, Golden and Completely Insane: Meg Stalter Shocked the Emmys Crowd With Her Look

Actress Meg Stalter has taken the concept of dressing for the occasion to an entirely new level.

The 36-year-old star of Hacks appeared on the red carpet at the 78th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles dressed as the Emmy statuette itself.

For her unconventional red-carpet appearance, Stalter wore a gold bralette top and matching gold briefs, while the rest of her body was covered in shimmering gold paint.

The actress didn’t stop at the gold body paint. She held a large circular structure above her head, resembling part of the famous Emmy statuette, and completed the look with gold peep-toe shoes.

Gold paint also covered Stalter’s face. She slicked her hair back away from her face and coated it in a golden substance as well. Massive gold belts and chunky necklaces completed the extravagant ensemble.

According to the Television Academy, the Emmy statuette depicts “a winged muse of art holding an atom of science.” It weighs around 2.7 kilograms, and its surface is plated with 24-karat gold over nickel, copper and other metals.

However, Stalter’s unusual outfit was far from a hit with everyone. Users on X were quick to discuss her appearance on the red carpet.

“They are so annoyingly obnoxious,” one user wrote.

“An absolute mess,” another commented.

Another commenter observed: “Looks like a Halloween costume.”
