Breast Milk as High Fashion: Pregnant Little Mix Star Stuns London

Leigh-Anne Pinnock turned her appearance at London Fashion Week into a striking performance. The 34-year-old singer and former Little Mix member showed off her baby bump at the Di Petsa show, walking the runway in an unusual all-white look.

The centerpiece of the outfit was a sculptural breastfeeding bra inspired by nursing. A special effect allowed liquid to flow from the cups, creating the illusion of lactation right on the runway.

The white ensemble looked both ethereal and symbolic. Pinnock completed the look with wet-look hair and makeup designed to resemble tear tracks, while walking the runway alongside a group of models dressed in pink.

Footage from the show shows the singer and the other models turning in a circle, displaying their outfits from every angle and revealing the intended effect.

In a press release, fashion house Di Petsa described the look as one of the key elements of the collection.

“Among the key elements of the show is a sculptural breastfeeding bra from which milk streams during the performance. The piece becomes a striking statement on motherhood, the body and care as spectacle, placing an intimate act within the carefully constructed world of the runway,” the description reads.

Di Petsa’s provocative design is entirely in keeping with the brand’s aesthetic. The fashion house already offers revealing pieces that reinterpret themes of motherhood and breastfeeding.

Among them is the Breastfeeding Bride Corset, priced at $1,504. Its design only partially covers the breasts, allowing breastfeeding mothers to wear the garment.

For Pinnock, the runway appearance was particularly symbolic, as the singer is preparing to become a mother for the third time.
