Former Fox News Producer Dies by Suicide at 36, Six Years After Accusing Former Anchor of Rape

Former Fox News producer Jennifer Eckhart has died at the age of 36, six years after accusing former network anchor Ed Henry of rape.

Eckhart was found dead at her home in Hobe Sound, Florida, on Saturday, a spokesperson for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to the Daily Mail.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the journalist, who later became a podcaster, died by suicide.

According to a police report obtained by the publication, Eckhart’s body was discovered by her mother. She arrived at the home on Monday morning and found her daughter in the bathroom of the primary bedroom. A knife was found nearby.

Eckhart became widely known after filing a lawsuit against former Fox News anchor Ed Henry in 2020, accusing him of rape. Following the lawsuit, the network launched an independent investigation, which resulted in Henry’s termination.

Eckhart alleged that in 2017, Henry restrained her against her will and raped her during a meeting at a Manhattan hotel.

The case never went to trial. The parties reached a settlement in June 2025, just one day before the case was finally scheduled to go to court.

Henry, who is now 55, works as an anchor at Newsmax. He denied Eckhart’s allegations and maintained throughout the proceedings that their relationship had been consensual.

After leaving Fox, Eckhart began a new chapter in her professional life. In 2021, she launched her own podcast, REINVENTED with Jen Eckhart, which she described as her “second act.”

In an August 2021 interview with Variety, the journalist said she planned to use the project to speak with people from a wide range of backgrounds about human nature and the experiences that shape people’s lives.

The final published episode of the podcast was released in March this year, several weeks after a federal appeals court rejected another lawsuit filed by Eckhart, this time against Fox News itself rather than Henry.

The appeal repeated allegations from her original lawsuit, claiming that Fox News executives were allegedly aware of Henry’s conduct but failed to take the necessary steps to discipline him and protect Eckhart.
