The Return of a Legend: Romance, Energy and Declarations of Love at Garou’s Concert in Yerevan

On September 22, Yerevan welcomed Garou once again, the French-Canadian singer known to millions of viewers for his role as Quasimodo in Notre-Dame de Paris. This was not the artist’s first visit to the Armenian capital, but each of his concerts here feels like a new encounter. This time, Garou took the stage at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex and, from the very first minutes, filled the packed venue with his vibrant, unstoppable energy.

The program was truly diverse: blues, rock, Garou’s own songs, and compositions by Charles Aznavour. The artist moved effortlessly between genres and moods. But the most personal moments came between the songs. Garou shared stories from his life, recalled how some of his compositions came to be, and spoke about songs dedicated to his daughter and his wife.

He talked to the audience, inviting them into his world and explaining the stories behind familiar melodies. The audience responded in kind, singing along, laughing, reacting to every story and experiencing the songs together with him.

And toward the end, Garou gave the audience what, it seemed, everyone had been waiting for. Belle, the timeless classic from Notre-Dame de Paris that first introduced his voice to the world. The first notes were enough, and the entire audience was already singing along. So many years later, the song still works its magic without fail.

After the concert, Garou shared his impressions on Instagram, posting photos from Yerevan and writing: “How wonderful it is to meet again in Yerevan after all this time. Having started the tour only a week ago, I feel deeply privileged to be back and to face such a welcoming and enthusiastic crowd each evening.”
