19:29 24 September, 2026An invitation to a fashion show usually offers a hint of what guests can expect. But this time, FENDI limited itself to a single mysterious phrase: “I like my body when it is with your body.”
At first glance, one might have assumed the words came from Maria Grazia Chiuri. In fact, the quote belongs to American poet E. E. Cummings and was written back in 1925.

Those words became a kind of key to FENDI’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, built around the theme of relationships — but not exclusively romantic ones.
For Cummings, the phrase was about love, intimacy, and the connection between people. For Chiuri and FENDI, the focus shifted to the interaction between clothing and the body that wears it.

The collection opened with lingerie made from delicate lace and embellished with embroidery. Soft pastel shades gradually gave way to more expressive looks reminiscent of stage costumes and inspired by legendary Italian singer and television personality Raffaella Carrà.

But the clothes were not the only thing to capture the guests’ attention.
An equally important part of the concept was the set design, inspired by Italian sculptor Luciano Fabro’s Cubo di specchi, or “Mirror Cube.”

The mirrored structure literally transformed the way the show was experienced. Instead of simply watching the models, guests found themselves facing a huge mirrored cube, with the runway taking place inside it.

As a result, the audience itself became part of the show’s visual landscape. The mirrors allowed guests to watch the models while simultaneously seeing their own reflections, erasing the traditional boundary between the runway and the audience.

The device perfectly reinforced the collection’s central idea: an exploration of the connection between the body, the clothes it wears, and the person looking at them.
