‘Duck Lips’ Are Out: Kylie Jenner and Dua Lipa Spark Viral ‘Boob Rest’ Pose Trend

Move over, duck lips — Gen Z has come up with a new way to pose for the camera, and this time, all eyes are on the chest.

Social media is rapidly embracing the so-called “boob rest” — a new posing trend that has already been adopted by stars including Kylie Jenner, Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber.

The name says it all. To recreate the viral pose, simply place both hands over your chest, with your fingers lightly covering the cleavage area. The result is a gesture that is both flirtatious and slightly tongue-in-cheek — as if a woman has suddenly wondered, “Did I forget something?” or decided at the last second to hold on to her necklace.

While the famous “duck lips” made the face the star of the photo, the spotlight has now shifted to the cleavage.

Kylie Jenner essentially turned the pose into an internet meme back in December 2025, when she attended the Los Angeles premiere of Marty Supreme. She wore a bright orange dress, with her hands dramatically positioned over her chest.

The look made such an impression on social media users that comedian Meg Stalter and her Hacks co-star Paul W. Downs soon decided to recreate it. They dressed in matching orange outfits, while Stalter humorously copied Jenner’s signature pose.

Kylie, however, is far from the only celebrity to embrace the new trick. Dua Lipa has also shown off the viral pose in a photo, lightly placing one hand against her chest.

Hailey Bieber has taken the trend even further, experimenting with several variations — sometimes placing both hands over her chest, and at other times lightly touching it with just one hand. Similar shots have appeared both on her social media accounts and in fashion shoots.

The trend has gradually moved beyond the celebrity world and into everyday social media. Women across the internet have begun recreating the pose in front of the camera, turning it into the latest go-to trick for taking photos.

Twenty-five-year-old photographer and content creator Lizzie Cloen told HuffPost that the gesture’s popularity may be explained by how natural it feels.

According to Cloen, the new pose is hardly different from familiar photo gestures such as placing a hand on the hip, making a peace sign or pretending to adjust a shoe.

So, the next time you find yourself standing in front of a camera with no idea what to do with your hands, Gen Z has the answer: a casual, effortless touch to the chest — and you’re officially on trend.
