British Actress Accused of Funding Drug Trafficking, Sex Parties and Weapons Purchases for Her Brother

British actress Jodie Turner-Smith, known for her roles in Queen & Slim and the television series True Blood, has found herself at the center of a major scandal. Three women have filed a lawsuit against her brother, Richard Mark Anthony Smith, accusing him of drug trafficking, sexual assault and illegal possession of weapons. According to court documents, the actress herself allegedly knew about her brother’s criminal activities, used cocaine with him, helped finance his drug operation and paid for housing where sex parties allegedly took place.

The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County court. The three women, who have chosen to remain anonymous and are identified in the complaint as Jane Does, allege that they were victims of sexual assault, coercion into drug use and other unlawful acts by Smith. They claim that their experiences caused them serious physical and psychological harm.

According to the lawsuit, Richard Smith, who has previously been convicted of a felony, allegedly organized a drug-trafficking operation, including the acquisition and transportation of illegal substances across state lines. One of the locations where the alleged criminal activity took place was a luxury apartment in Hollywood, which, according to the plaintiffs, was rented and paid for by his famous sister.

One of the plaintiffs, Jane Doe 2, said she met Richard in 2023 at a party in Los Angeles that continued after the city’s establishments had officially closed. According to her, Smith offered drugs to guests, and trays of cocaine were present at the event. The two later became romantically involved, but the relationship allegedly grew increasingly unhealthy and controlling.

The woman claims that Smith pressured her to use drugs and engage in sexual activity without her consent. According to her allegations, he referred to her as his “white slave” and himself as her master.

The court documents also allege that Smith forcibly undressed the woman against her will and locked her in a walk-in closet. The plaintiff further claims that she was forced to engage in sexual acts with Smith and several other men. The lawsuit states that, at times, Richard’s children were also present in the house where the alleged unlawful activities took place.

Another woman, Jane Doe 3, said she did not feel safe in Smith’s Hollywood apartment. According to her, Smith offered her housing in exchange for sex and later pressured her to sell drugs. She also alleges that he coerced her into sexual acts involving himself and his roommate.

The court documents devote particular attention to Jodie Turner-Smith’s alleged role in her brother’s activities. According to the plaintiffs, Smith repeatedly spoke about receiving financial support from his famous sister, allegedly saying that he had once supported her and that she was now paying his bills.

“I used to take care of her, now she takes care of me. She pays all my bills,” Smith allegedly said when speaking about the actress, according to the lawsuit.

The plaintiffs also allege that Turner-Smith gave her brother an Audi, which they claim was used to transport packages containing drugs through the United States Postal Service (USPS) to other states.

The documents further cite statements allegedly made by Smith, who reportedly told one of the women that his sister knew about his drug trafficking, used cocaine with him and helped pay for new supplies of illegal substances.

The plaintiffs, however, specifically emphasize that these claims came solely from Richard Smith himself and do not constitute an admission by the actress that she committed any unlawful acts. They argue that Turner-Smith could only be held liable if further proceedings establish that she was aware of her brother’s alleged criminal activities and knowingly assisted him.

Specifically, the lawsuit states that if the actress’s alleged knowledge and continued assistance are established, she could potentially be held liable for specific acts or failures to act, resources she allegedly provided, and the use of property connected to the alleged illegal activity.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages, reimbursement for medical expenses and other costs, and are requesting a jury trial.
